Smashed Garlic Potatoes

These simple and quick smashed potatoes make an amazing side and are an amazing alternative to french fries. Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside… This is the only potato side you will ever need. Amazing with any main and a nice change from mashed. No additional milk or butter required. Don’t forget that potatoes are an incredible source of many nutrients such as potassium, B6, vitamin C, manganese, copper and fiber, so eat them up!

  • 1 bag of yukon multi coloured potatoes 
  • Avocado oil spray 
  • Garlic powder
  • Sea salt
  • Pepper


  1. In a microwave safe container, place the potatoes in ½ inch of water and cover with plastic wrap. Poke a few holes in the top and microwave on high for 10 minutes. 
  2. Allow potatoes to mostly cool and preheat oven to 425F
  3. Place potatoes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and smash with a large spoon or bottom of a cup.
  4. Spray with avocado oil and cover generously or to your liking, with salt, pepper and garlic powder. 
  5. Bake for ~15  minutes on each side on the lowest shelf of the oven.
